Guest guest
Yes- it helped. had severe reflux that was aggrevated by food allergies (even through breastmilk) and that started being resistent to medication around 8 months. After 3 months of food refusal and out of control reflux, she was diagnosed with failure to thrive. Luckily, we had gotten her stabalized shortly before she got her band. I do think we benefited from the fact that she had some growth to make up for. Anyway, we started the chiro a full year after she had been stabalized on Prevacid. She was 24 months old. starting weaning off of her medication after about 6 weeks of treatment and she was completely off after 2.5 months. She had no medication at all for 6 months, but then, she had a relapse. But, the relapse was after a strong reaction to a food exposure ( has food allergies that seem connected to the reflux and her digestive system always has issues with exposures). I gave her the Prevacid for 2.5 weeks and starting weaning her off again this week. So far, she is on a 50 percent dose and doing okay again. Of course, she was only adjusted twice in May because she is on a maintenance treatment plan. I may want to get her in a few more times in June so that we can help her system get back on track. I was tired of waiting for her to outgrow her reflux and glad to be able to actually do something to help. By the way, the treatment regimin was 3 times a week for 3 months. When we re-evaluated after 3 months, she went down to once a week. Now, it is up to us, but she needs to be seen at least once a month according to our chiro. Since I go once a week, will often want to be adjusted if she comes with me. We pay a flat fee of 10 dollars a month for both kids to be adjusted as many times as needed. We thought that could benefit because when the chiro did her exam, she found that had severe misalignments in the C spine (which could affect the head as well as other areas) and the areas where the nerves travel to the digestive system. By the way, we also do probiotics - has had them since she was 2 months old and they do help. chiropractor?>>>>>>> Has any one tried chiropractor care in addition to other therapies (PT,etc)> for tortocollis? What are your thoughts on this? Thanks.>>>-- Sent from my mobile device-mommy to Emma, Becca, ,, , and baby girl no name (yeah I know, nothing new, does ever pick a name in a timely manner?)
