Tips for cleaning Starband and eliminating smell?

My son got his Starband last Wednesday (he's 10 months). This monring after his

2nd full night of wearing it, I noticed the band and his head have really

started to smell funky.

I have been cleaning once or twice a day with the rubbing alcohol, and sometimes

blowdry the helmet on the cool setting. We were also instructed to take off the

helmet every 4 hours during the day and wipe down his head, the helmet, let dry

for 5-10 mintues and then put it back on. Should I not be using any water to

wipe down the helmet?

Also, with twins, I was bathing them every other day. Our orthodist said not to

change his routine and over irritate his head, but now I'm thinking I have to

wash his hair every night?

Any other tips are much appreciated.

I found that using a scented hand sanitizer like lavender and wiping it on with

a paper towel then drying it in front of a fan works great! Been doing it since

we got the helmet 4 months ago!
