It will take place on Saturday, October 8,at Fairchild Auditorium, near Stanford Hospital. The change has been made to reduce costs and keepattendee fees low. The children's program will be a circus theme under a tent on the lawn, and the teens will have a separate room. If you would like to help with this event, please contact . We still need help the day of the event, with registration, catering,clean-up and help with the mailing in the next month. Volunteers get to take home a box of GF products at the end of the day. Registration forms will go out in early August. Saturday, May 21 Event: Stanford Walk for Celiacs Proceeds benefit the Celiac Sprue Research Foundation,www.celiacsprue.org. Thanks to all the wonderful people who helped raise over $23,000 on the walk. 100% of the money raised was turned over to research. Enjoy an afternoon in the mountains and a great opportunity to socialize with other celiacs. This event is for adults and children of all ages. Bring a gluten free potluck item to share (with the list of ingredients or recipe) and your swimsuit, towel, sunscreen. I will be servingmy homemade gluten free pizza. SEPTEMBER MEETING on Saturday, Sept. 17 .....The next meeting of the Santa Cruz Celiac Support Group will be at 11AM, in meeting room 1 at Dominican Hospital, 1555 Soquel Drive, Santa Cruz. This will be a general meeting for discussion and questions; a chance for experienced and newlydiagnosed celiacs to share experiences and ideas.The meeting will conclude with a gluten free potluck lunch, so please bring a gluten free lunch item to share.(this is optional for those who are very ill or unfamiliar with the gluten free diet). These get rave reviews. We all need to encourage our stores to supply our favorite foods. Many do not realize we celiacs are increasing in number.
