Guest guest
Note: I never had a chance to send this out before I left for vacation, so it is a bit late. For anyone who is interested in attending the August 6 party, don't worry about the August 1 RSVP date, just let me know as soon as you can if you plan to attend. If you would like to attend or help with a holiday event in December, let me know. If I don't hear from people who are interested, this won't happen, so please speak up and get involved. Also, we really need a good location for this to take place, so let me know if you would be willing to host this event or have an idea where we might do this. Tentative fall meeting dates for the Oakland group are September 10 and December 10. --------------------------------------------------------------------Gluten free product note: Sue Hersom reports that after much persuasion the Whole Foods in is now stocking Ian's Allergy Free Fish Sticks and Chicken Nuggets. These get rave reviews. We all need to encourage our stores to supply our favorite foods. Many do not realize we celiacs are increasing in number. (about 840 on our list now, and there are others!)They may be reluctant to buy more gf products when the ones they have do not sell well...and of course they don't always know what we like. -------------------------------------------------------------------Note from , CA......Rose Anne DeCristoforo, owner of Natural Food Works and the Farmer's Kitchen Café, 624 4th St., , makes a variety of fresh gluten free products: bread, pizza, cakes, pies, muffins, tamales, soups, sauces, pastas, condiments, bagels, quiches, tarts, salad dressings and cookies. She is interested in providing them to celiacs in the Bay area by arranging deliveries to central locations.
