Hi!

I am from Elk Grove Village, Illinois. My son is 8 months old with tort

and mild plagio. He has got his Starband a month ago. He also goes to PT

for the tort. I have no experience with Cranial Technologies, but if

you decide to go with Starband I strongly recommend Dr Vicari from

Children's Memorial Hospital.Good Luck,Margarita

My name is Alisa and I am from Mount Prospect, IL. My son Aidin is 4 months old and was diagnosed with Torticollis and moderate plagiocephaly. We have started PT for Tort about 4 weeks ago and there is some improvement. We have also started the process with the insurance to see if they will cover my sons helmet. So far all they said was they need a letter of medical nessecity from the dr and the referral specialist believes that they will approve the treatment. REgardless if they approve or not we are going to Cranial Tech here in illinois. Anyone from Illinois, around Chicago that has gone to Cranial Tech? What was your experiance??

You live very close to me. I belive my insurance will only cover Cranial Tech.

Have you noticed any improvement? And how does you little one deal with having

the helet on?

I am a little concerned how my son will react.

Hi!I was excited to see a letter from somebody who lives so close to me.My son had no problems adjusting to the helmet. It doesn't bother him at all. It's always harder for the mom than for the baby. I still can't get used to it. I always feel sad when I look at him, but I know it's for the best. It's lots of stress for the mom especially in the beginning. For me it was even more stressful because the helmet didn't fit right. It was rotating, going into his eyes and leaving red marks. We ended up making a new one. We have the new one for 1 week only , so I can't say that I see an improvement yet. But it's been only a week. The old one we had for 2 weeks, but it was only harming him. So watch out when you choose an orthotist. Make sure he's an experienced one.I hope somebody else from Illinois replies to you and

recommends one. I am sure your son will get great results very fast because you are starting so early. Take care .Margarita

Hi,I live in Arlington Heights, IL. My son Cole, 8 mos., has moderate plagio. He just got his DOC Band 2 days ago. So far, so good. I don't have much experience yet but so far I have no complaints about Cranial Tech, and he seems to be adjusting fine to the band. I know other people who have worked with Dr. Vicari/Star Bands and I've heard good things about both. I went with Cranial Tech because my ped recommended them, and by the time I heard about Dr. Vicari we had already submitted stuff to insurance and were ready to go with CT. We would have had to start over and, I'm told, wait 4-6 weeks for a consult with Vicari. Happy with CT so far. Just trying to figure out the best way to decorate. Has anyone tried spray paint? I found some that's water-based latex. Spraying seems

easier than brushing on. But I've only found info on brush-on paint, professional airbrushing, and vehicle wraps. I'd love to hear tips!Jenn From: aidinsmommy <aidinsmommy>Subject: New to the Group and wanted to introduce myselfPlagiocephalyDate: Thursday, February 4, 2010, 11:14 AM
