Amy, can you tell me which soups you have had at Sweet Tomatoes that are

g-f? I'm really excited. It's nice to have soup along with the salad.

Thanks.

I have been reading the posts about PF Changs with interest, as I go

there a fair amount. I was wondering how people in the area feel about

Outback Steakhouse? I have gone to the Cupertino location twice and

have not been impressed with their knowledge of the GF menu. The

manager seemed to be really confused about what was OK for me to have.

On the other hand, I have found that at least PF Changs knows what the

GF menu is! Wondering about other experiences from Outback....

Also, if you have to decide between Sweet Tomatoes or Fresh Choice, I

would pick Sweet Tomatoes any day. They have a book that lists all the

ingredients of their soups and salads and they happily let me look at it

any time I ask. At Fresh Choice, I asked to look at the book and was

told they aren't allowed to let customers look at it. The manager told

me she could go over the ingredients with me. I told her that I can't

have wheat and she confidently proclaimed that none of their soups have

wheat! When I assured her that yes, most of their soups do contain

wheat, she wouldn't believe me!

I won't go to Fresh Choice again.

Hi Sue,

Most of the time I don't find any soups that I can have. There has

been a vegetable soup that has been OK. At least it's nice to be able

to see the ingredients and get lucky once in a while!

Talk to the manager. I have been to several Outback Steakhouses with pretty good success. The best was near Portland Oregon--I think it has a lot to do with exposure. Once the staff is exposed to it--they are more responsive. They have a very thorough GF menu--which tells you exactly what you can/cannot have and how to make special requests to ensure your order is GF. Obviously, these chains could use some training in the kitchen and service areas, but the more we make our needs known, the more options we will have.Amy Bhatnagar <amy.bhatnagar@...> wrote:
