Guest guest
My son is going in to be scanned for a helmet tomorrow. They measured him at 20mm a few weeks ago and I think it has gotten worse since then despite our best efforts. He will be 5.5 months when he gets his helmet. Will it completely round out the asymmetry? Has anyone has children with plagio this severe? His ears aren't even the same height anymore. I know we are doing all we can for him - I just want to be prepared for the outcome, good or not-so-good. Please share your stories with me if you have had similar experiences. Thanks for any insight!
Guest guest
My daughter was 8 months old when she was banded at 14.5mm(cranial calipers) 13mm(scan.) She corrected to 2.47mm in 15 weeks and then down to 1mm out of the band. Hers ear asymmetry was 6mm and finished at 2mm.You are banding just at the right time and you should see excellent correction. I would expect multiple bands to get there, however. Your baby still has a lot of rapid growth ahead of him. Good luck!-Amy From: Becca <becca.federman@...>Plagiocephaly Sent: Wed, March 30, 2011 8:36:09 PMSubject: Can severe plagio (over 20mm) be completly corrected?
