Guest guest
Hi Jerri- My sons had Gliadin IgGs of 75 and 63 - not far off from yours. We did go gluten free the first year or year and a half. It isn't that drastically hard if you don't try to duplicate regular foods but rather just change eating style to exclude gluten. The only 'replacement' food we ended up sticking to was gfcf pancakes made from chickpea flour and rice flour, and they were well-loved - even continued them after going back to wheat 'cause they were good. When I find the mix recipe, I'll post it again. Publix and Walmart brands of foods seem to have fewer ingredients, and they're a good place to look when trying to find GFCF. The same product could have 5 brands containing gluten and 2 without. It's irritating. I believe my sons are doing alright with the current diet, but I felt for a long time that going GFCF initially help speed up their improvements and reduced other food sensitivities. I don't know if you'd have to be militant about the ingredients in sauces and such or not like hard core GFCF is. I am, though, considering removing wheat for a couple of weeks to see if I see anything, too. Hopefully it won't be too difficult, and if it is helpful, perhaps you won't have to stay on it too terribly long if it does work. --- Jerri Gann <njgann@...> wrote: > This email came back as undeliverable, so I'm not > sure the list got > it. > > I think I need my son to go gluten free also, but I > 'm hoping someone > can give me some advice. This magazine also has many recipes and other referral websites. I hope this information is helpful. Good Luck, Argie PS We're not GFCF now, but tried it without results before starting the protocol with Dr. G. Our son's lab results are also in the significant range for Gluten & Gliadin too. Dr G said if I can get my sons EOS down, he should be fine. We have tried everything except gluten free. When we started with Dr G on : Date 2/02 4/03 8/04 Gliadin Antibodies IGG 81 96 103 Gliadin ABS, IGA 53 34 38 Dr G has never said don't go gluten free but wasn't certain it would help much. My sons food allergy panel in the beginning showed Gliadin, gluten, and wheat in the significant range. These were the only things in the significant range. Dr G said he doesn't believe my son is a true celiac, nor many of the children diagnosed ASD. He said a biopsy is the only way to know for sure and didn't recommend this. I agree, they are awful! But if this is the final thing for my son. It will be worth it. It is a huge undertaking however as he is going to be 9 in Jan. and is in regular school. Parties...etc will be tough. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. If the mom who said she is a chef and has going gluten free down and doing it easily is still out there I would love to hear from her.
