Will all your appointments be at Children's Hospital or will you go to the CIRS Oakland office for your follow-up appointments?  Just wondering if CIRS is now working out of Children's Hospital.

We just had our appt and scan yesterday.  This was all done at Children's Hospital in Oakland. Our pedi wanted us to wait until our daughters 9 month appt to re-evaluate her... but I'm really glad we didn't as her numbers were in the moderate to severe category.   So we went ahead with the band.  She is now almost 7 months.

The digital scan took about 15 seconds and they make the band from that.  We were told we should have it within 2 weeks and will then go back for the first fitting.

Trish from CIRS is the Orthotist and she was super great.  I'm confident that this will work and will benefit our baby girl.  I'll let you all know how the first fitting goes.  Thanks.

Molly, They way I understand it is that CIRS has their own office in Oakland, and at the very least, our initial fitting will be there.  This is the office on 40th Street in Oakland.  Follow-up appts may or may not be at this location but either way they are still close to the hospital, so any location works for us.

They do however work closely with the Hospital and join in on group sessions as well as individual appointments.  Trish was at our group session yesterday and then that session moved into individual appts for evaluation.  They scanned my daughter right then and we should have our band within 2 weeks.

Hope this helps.  Thanks.
