Guest guest
My son had a hard time adjusting at night and woke up every hour for several days to weeks after starting full time wear. I was really upset and called the orthotist who suggested that we take off the extra piece by the velcro on his starband, which helped a little. He eventually got used to it but was crabby and didn't smile as much, I think because he was so sleep deprived. We saw wonderful results and it was worth it in the end.Sent via BlackBerry by AT&TFrom: "lallyrizzo" <lallyrizzo@...>Sender: Plagiocephaly Date: Fri, 27 Aug 2010 13:52:22 -0000<Plagiocephaly >Reply Plagiocephaly Subject: She HATES the Band Hello everyone! My daughter Nora was fitted into her DocBand last Thursday, and it's gotten progressively worse ever since. She did great the first few nights- we followed all of the instructions, she did well. But the past few days her personality has gotten so strange- we can't get her to smile much and her nighttime sleeping is NONEXISTENT. Did this happen to anyone else? She swipes at the right side of her band and her ear on that side (that is the side that is more pressure), but I took her to the pedi to rule out ear infection and we went for her first adjustment yesterday and they couldn't see anything that would be bothering her so much. She literally SCREAMS for hours when we put the band back on after bath, and off and on all night long. I feel SO BADLY for her, and am already starting to regret the band. Any advice or similar experiences? Thanks to all- this has been a very stressful week.
Guest guest
My daughter was never a great sleeper. She had been in our bed for the most part but had transitioned to her crib for about a month before banding. When she got her band she also got a cold and it was horrible. She didn't sleep at all, and ended up back in our bed. I know cosleeping isn't for everyone, and you should educate yourself before trying it. However as long as she was in our bed she slept great - band or not. And her head improved tons. -christine sydney, 4.5 yrs, starband grad > > My son had a hard time adjusting at night and woke up every hour for several days to weeks after starting full time wear.
