Funny you post this message today--I was JUST thinking about this today, as my daughter will receive her Starband helmet on 05/12 (She will be 5 months and one week old when it goes on). I felt bad for a minute, then I quickly put it all back in perspective: this is only a temporary thing, thank goodness she doesn't have another medical condition that requires lifelong treatment, thank goodness it is treatable and I would always wonder what would have been if I didn't go through with it.  I'm sure there will be some sleepless nights in the beginning as she adjusts, but I think it will be well worth it.  Plus, there are so many new memories to come!
