Guest guest
I am in Local 701, with BCBS of Illinois. Even though my son has moderate-severe plagiocephaly, we were denied coverage, saying it is purely cosmetic. Yes we can appeal. Does anyone have advise or info i can pass on to them to get this approved. thank you all so much in advance for any help.
Guest guest
Do you have a letter of medical necessity from a pediatrician or neurosurgeon? If you can get one, that will help a lot. Read through the insurance tips in the Files section. There is really a lot of useful information compiled there. Cranial Tech also has a section on their website with research study summaries. You might want to peruse these and see if anything might help your argument. A lot of people include research study results in their appeals. Site the study in your appeal letter, and include a copy of the study. Best of luck, and let us know if there's more we can do! > > I am in Local 701, with BCBS of Illinois.
