Guest guest
It could be heatrash, or that the band was too tight. My daughter had heatrash on her sideburns. We used a little hydrocortizone cream and it cleared up quickly. However, in your case I'm not sure - you mention the smell, which can be normal helmet smell, or maybe worse, but your subject line says puss which is definitely not normal. Let us know what CT says. Also when my daughter was in need on an adjustment (due to growth) her forehead would get red almost like a sunburn. For us that cleared up quickly when there was room in the band. -christine sydney, 5 yrs, starband grad > > Has anyone had any issue with extreme redness/puss/ " burns " on their childs head from the band? > > My son (6 months) is on day 5 with his doc band and up until now has not had any problems other than some very mild redness that has gone away within 30-40minutes of having the band off. Last night I took it off to give my son a bath and both of his sideburns and the back of his head (bottom) were bright red and smelled awful! It literally looked like he had an been badly burned. I then realized that one of his sideburns had been pussing (which was noticeable on his head and the inside of the band). I left the band off all night and its still red this morning (a little less but still red). > > I plan on going in to CT first thing on Monday and leaving the band off until then but I am wondering if anyone else has had any similar issues with their bands and what the outcome was. Any help or advise would be much appreciated as we want to get the band back on ASAP!!!! >
