Chiptole's Restaurant - A Great Experience

I am SO excited! It is the type of excitement only a celiac feels

when they dine in a new restaurant and experience new food (and not

get sick)!

After reading the " handy-dandy " SillyYaks restaurant guide, I went to

Chipotle's for lunch yesterday. Chipotle's is a Mexican food

restaurant similar to Baja Fresh, and they have restaurants in the

Bay Area. I live in San and went to the Chipotle's in Cupertino

on De Anza Boulevard.

I shared a chicken taco and fajita steak burrito bol with a fellow

celiac. The gloved hands of the servers behind the counter

DEFINITELY had gluten on them because they constantly touched flour

tortillas making food for everyone, but they spooned my food into

bowls and their gloved hands never touched my food. I asked that the

chicken taco ingredients be also spooned into a bowl, and the steak

burrito bol comes without tortillas anyway. I brought along my own

tortilla chips to eat with their salsa and also brought along my own

warm corn tortillas (in a lunch box with a microwave pad to keep them

warm). It was absolutely delicious! My friend who has celiac disease

is very, very sensitive to gluten, and she did not get sick either.

What a great, great dining experience!

That is so cool !

We also had fun going to The Farmer’s Kitchen Café in .

They cater to gluten-free diners and we were able to have a delicious gluten-free meal.

There’s also a health food store connected to this restaurant that offers gluten-free items as well.

It’s worth a stop if you happen to be in .
