first few days... I miss kissing his head!

Hi there. Riley got his doc band on thursday and it's going much better than

expected - he's teething like crazy right now so either he doesn't seem to

notice b/c of that, or he's just not phased by it at all. thankfully! he

actually smiled when the tech put it on him for the first time, my little

sweetie boy : ) it has been extremely hot so we've been a little cooped up in

a/c but the first few days I really wanted to keep him cool and as comfortable

as possible.

The crazy thing, I guess for all of us here- no one would have had any idea that

he had anything going on with the shape of his head or anything at all... unless

we pointed it out to them and they looked closely. and now, with the band on...

not quite sure how to say what I'm feeling. but the band is all strangers see I

guess - I felt a lot of stares and people checking him out on our few outings...

it used to be people oohing and aahing over him, how cute he is and his big

smile... only 1 person actually said something and she asked 'oh, what's wrong

with him?' in a nice enough way, but... ah. not looking forward to THAT part

of all of THIS I guess. don't get me wrong, I realize I'm fortunate enough that

I can say NOTHING is wrong (or at least it won't be!)... but it still kinda

sucks.

And, I miss kissing his head!!! Thrilled that he's still his happy little self

though, that was my big worry.
