Guest guest
Six months is a good long run for a helmet, and it seems highly improbable that anyone would instruct you to continue using a helmet that doesn't fit. There's certainly a communication breakdown here somewhere. You may have been under the mistaken impression that one helmet is always sufficient to correct plagiocephaly, or that all cases resolve under treatment. I can sympathize with that disappointment, but there's no way anyone would have told you that. If you perceive sufficient capacity (in the foam lining of an active helmet) for further adjustments, but it seems they're dumping you just because you've taken too much of their time, there might be someone else to complain to. Assurances are often made about the decision to end treatment being a mutual agreement. Guest guest
Thad, It would seem to me that you are speaking over some heads here... jennifer, I'm sure you are very frustrated and sickened over this. How is his head looking? Has it improved to the point where your happy with the results? If not, then a second bad would be needed. My therapist for my son would never have said just deal with it. She never would have put a helmet on a head if it was too tight or didnt fit. And if the skin was broken, you never put hydrocortizone cream, you only put that on reddened unbroken skin. How old is your son? If hes not too old, maybe if you can afford it and can go through the emotional stress again, maybe go to another place and get another helmet? Or if you do not want to do that, maybe his head will soften as he gets older. Good luck! > I had no problems with my son till about the last month of a six > month band treatment.he started crying non stop pulling at the > helmet and actually breaking skin on his forehead...the cranial dr > told me use hydrcortizone he has to deal with it..after arguing and > complaining they looked at him and said he outgrew his helmet but > wouldn't do anything about getting one,,,instead I was to keep him > in the helmet and deal with it.I took it off and have not gone > back.they don't answer my calls and I don't know what to do
