Guest guest
My daughter just got her first DOC band check yesterday after 1 week of wear. She had done well so far, a couple of red spots the first couple of days that would go away within an hour of having it off for skin checks. The therapist/clinician that we had see at all previous appointments was unfortunately out due to a car accident. Another staff member (whom I assumed had the same experience/training) did her check and adjustment of the band. This morning when I took the band off to do her neck stretches there was a small spot where the skin was peeling/flaking off. It was not red at all but I called CT and spoke to the same woman I saw yesterday and she was not worried if it was not red. Then when I took it off this evening it was now red and raw. They were closed so I have left it off for tonight until I speak to them tomorrow. Does anyone think that it could be as a result of this woman not knowing what she was doing? Or, is this a normal thing that can happen at any point during the process? I am of course just neurotic and have heard that the results all depend on who does the adjustments. I would love to hear from any parents who have been through this and know what to expect. Thank you!!!
