Guest guest
Hi everyone, I'd like all your help please. My daughter had her first appointment today. She is 8 months old so there isn't enough time to completely correct her head as she has severe plagiocephaly, Brachycephaly and torticollis. Until last week we've been told that there is nothing wrong and her head would sort itself out. I am disgusted that despite the fact my little girl would require physio for life for the torticollis which would never be cured without curing the plagiocephaly and Brachycephaly first that the nhs have fobbed me off and told me this is a cosmetic procedure. My baby cannot roll, lay on her tummy and will probably never crawl so it is affecting her development! Had the treatment been started at 4 months there would of been enough time to correct her head shape completely! Whatever happened to the hippocratic oath? I am going to begin trying to raise awareness and get the procdure recognised and done by the nhs. I would really appreciate the help and support of all of you. It would be a big help if you could send me your experiences to jldoubtfire@... so I can begin to catalouge the failings of the nhs. please include how the local nhs has dealt with your child, what help you were offered and the advice given. If you wish to remain anonomous I will honour that. Something has to be done for other children so they don't suffer like ours. Please feel free to email me for any further information on what I'm trying to do. Kind regards Jen x
