Guest guest
A yeast infection means that there was too much moisture up there. Don't feel too bad. Some babies sweat more than others. Just take the helmet off periodically and wipe it and her head down with a towel. And, like you said, dress her lighter. My ortho said that layers were a no no. We were also told not to use a coat to and from the car. Instead, we just wrapped her in a blanket, which we took off her once the car warmed up. Or better yet, when you can, warm the car up ahead of time so that she doesn't need a coat or blanket in there. Dress her as though it were 10 to 20 degrees warmer than it really is. If you swaddle her or use blankets, then use a onsie. If not, then try lightweight spring type jammies and maybe put a fan in the room. Always check the hands. If they are cold, then you can assume that she is cold. If too warm or she is sweating, then take something off. When we kept our house warm from our pellet stove, I would strip my daughter down to her diaper. I also had her sleep in just a diaper when we visited AZ in April. Even then, I would check the edge of her helmet periodically to see if she appeared to be sweating. Luckily, my daughter didn't sweat too much unless she was directly in the sun. She wore her helmet from November through May so we got a little of both cold and warmer weather. , mom to , 2.5 years STARband grad May 2009 Heat rash and yeast infection first week??!!
