Guest guest
My 4.5 month old daughter, Lexi, just had her evaluation and DSI this morning with CT. I know I want CT (our only in-state option is a Hanger clinic that I don't feel confident in) so we'll be making weekly trips to Dallas from Baton Rouge - 7 hours one way! Has anyone else here had to travel like this for your child's band/adjustments? What was your experience like with the traveling? Any advice/tips? Lexi is measuring 10 mm asymmetry which I know isn't really bad, but she has some ear misalignment and facial asymmetry. Anyway, we get her band next week and she will be five months old on Jan. 4th, so at least we're starting early. We were told that babies her age are averaging about 8 weeks in the DOC Band right now, so that doesn't seem too intimidating! Thanks, Sharyn Lexi - starting DOC Band on Dec.
Guest guest
Sharyn,I can't speak to the travel issue, but just wanted you to know my son Beaux, almost 5 months, got his band last Monday. We also use CT in Dallasand have been very pleased. A week and a half in I can already see changes.. Makes me know I did the right thing. I hope everything goes well!Sent from my iPhoneOn Dec 17, 2009, at 1:09 PM, "smccown615" <smccown615@...> wrote: My 4.5 month old daughter, Lexi, just had her evaluation and DSI this morning with CT. Guest guest
We also just had our eval and DSI this week and will be traveling (either 5-6 hours one-way drive, or a 1 hour plane flight) quite a distance to our appointments. You are lucky to be starting at 4.5 months--not only is her head likely to really improve, but I think traveling with a baby that age is a piece of cake compared to a baby who is crawling or walking already! I think we need to plan on 16 weeks of banding for our little guy, since he's already almost 9 months and has 18 mm asymmetry. That's a lot of travel, but we're obviously hoping it will be worth it. Did you already see this page: http://www.plagiosupport.org/travel.htm ? I found it very helpful! > > My 4.5 month old daughter, Lexi, just had her evaluation and DSI this morning with CT. Guest guest
Sharyn, While we did nto have to travel far for DS's band, we were pleased with our CT Dallas experience. DS got his band 1 week before he turned 6 months old, and graduated in seven weeks. His plagio was moderate, I don't know the measurements. The travel will be hard, but the results will be worth it. In my area we have many options, so the fact that DS's CF doc recommended CT over the other guys means a lot to me. Good luck! -Sara > > My 4.5 month old daughter, Lexi, just had her evaluation and DSI this morning with CT.
