Guest guest
Jill, Thanks for sharing your experience, that makes a lot of sense what you said about the one side being fuller and not necessarily the norm to match the other side. It makes me feel better especially if we don't get full symmetry. I've already seen so much improvement in my sons flat side that I'm already starting to look at the "fullness" on the other side as more of a problem now ( as well as the forehead) . So glad to hear your son has graduated and got good results! le mom to 6mos From: Angie P <apope04comcast (DOT) net>Subject: Re: great update... and a helmet marking questionPlagiocephalyDate: Sunday, December 13, 2009, 12:40 PM Thanks for the great update!! Angie great update... and a helmet marking question Hi everyone,We have GREAT news to share. After 11 weeks in her Hanger helmet, my daughter, Alena, 9 months old, will get her helmet off in the next 1-2 weeks! She started off with a CVA of 12 and is now down to 2 (our goal). Our orthosist gave us the option to either stop it now or continue for another week or two to try to get her down to 0. She's in the middle of a growth spurt right now, so we're hoping that 1-2 more weeks will bring her down to 0. Here's hoping! Now for my question:The orthosist, when we inquired, said that the way to tell if there is still room in the helmet for further growth is to put lipstick on the part of my daughter's head that is "flat," and if the lipstick transfers onto the helmet foam, then her flat spot has rounded out and is pressing against the helmet-- a sign that she is done. Lipstick just seems gross to smear on her sweet little head that we try to protect from foreign chemicals. Anyone know something else we can use to mark her up? Thanks,Mom to Alena, 9 months old11 weeks in Hanger band, Sacramento, CA
