Guest guest
Are you able to decorate it? People still stare but at least they figure that you're so not embarrassed by it that you would do something to draw attention to it. I guess they think that if you like it, they love it. I had my baby's brightly decorated with his name on it and people were more apt to say hi and approach and call him by name. Otherwise, I don't know what to tell you. People stare but isn't that so worth him having a nice head in a couple of months and not having someone stare when he gets older because he has a funny head shape? Guest guest
Hello,You don't mention your son's age, but his perception of people staring at him is not the same as yours. Relax. You are doing the best thing for your son. Bands are very, very effective. Who cares what other people think? That's really not what's important. It's your son that truly matters. I remember the first time I took my 8 month-old daughter out in public to the park in her band. A 24-month-old walked up to her in her stroller and said, "bicycle-" as in bicycle helmet, I'm sure. The little boy was simply curious and assessed the situation the way he saw it. I thought it was cute. Humans are curious, but little ones are especially so. Try not to let it bother you and don't read into what others are thinking just because they may stare. Keep your focus on your son and the fact that he's getting the help he needs. Some little ones are not quite so lucky. Good luck!-Amy From: hwallace10 <hwallace10@...>Plagiocephaly Sent: Sat, November 6, 2010 2:44:51 PMSubject: Recently began wearing Doc band My son was born at 33 weeks, 7 weeks early and spent 2 weeks in the NICU unit... he has now been diagnosed with plagiocephaly and torticollis ... he now has the Doc band on. We just took him to my older son's swim lesson and I felt so bad as all of the children stared at my baby. I feel absolutely horrible. Has anyone had success with the band or am I just subjecting my baby to embarassment for nothing?
