Guest guest
Hi We went to CIRS in Palo Alto and had good results. We had Kaiser for insurance and they covered 100%, although it differed based on which package your employer selected from Kaiser. I haven't heard any results from this hanger provider, so based on that I would go with CIRS. We just had an evaluation at Hanger in San Mateo, CA, and apparently he is 4 standard deviations away from the mean, so it's pretty severe. Although my husband and I hate the idea of having to use the helmet, we hate the idea of him having a very flat head for life to be a worse outcome, so I'm looking into where to get the helmet made. We're still waiting to see if insurance will cover it, and with an HMO, we might not have much choice about where to do it if insurance will cover it, but I've been reading some of the posts about how important it is to have a good orthotist, and that cranial tech is the best. I'm exploring the possibility of travelling to San Diego to go to Cranial Tech, but first I'd like to know if any of you have experience with the Orthotist in San Mateo. > > Thanks! > >
Guest guest
Hi, I know one person whose son wore a Hanger from San Mateo, and she seemed happy enough with the results. It is probably the same provider. Her son wore it young. I can still see a small flat spot, but not bad. I'm not sure how severe the plagio was to begin with. Still I would definitely go with CIRS. I've run into many people who used them, and I've never heard of anything but good results. I also received recommendations for them from the local parents' email list. Our insurance also covered 100% for our CIRS Starband. Best, Kathy On 10/30/2010 8:55 PM, christineashok wrote: Hi We went to CIRS in Palo Alto and had good results.
