Anyone have experience with San Mateo, CA Hanger?

Hi everyone,

I am looking into treatment options for my 3 1/2 month old son who was born at

35 weeks and has a very flat back of his head. We just had an evaluation at

Hanger in San Mateo, CA, and apparently he is 4 standard deviations away from

the mean, so it's pretty severe. Although my husband and I hate the idea of

having to use the helmet, we hate the idea of him having a very flat head for

life to be a worse outcome, so I'm looking into where to get the helmet made.

We're still waiting to see if insurance will cover it, and with an HMO, we might

not have much choice about where to do it if insurance will cover it, but I've

been reading some of the posts about how important it is to have a good

orthotist, and that cranial tech is the best. I'm exploring the possibility of

travelling to San Diego to go to Cranial Tech, but first I'd like to know if any

of you have experience with the Orthotist in San Mateo.
