Decorating Question...help!

My Son, , just got his " band " a few days ago. We followed the decorating

tips and I bought acrylic paint. I began to paint this evening and found that it

is very difficult! The paint dried uneven after 2 coats and is streaky. One

stroke of the brush put on color and the second stroke looks as if it removed

it. I'm afraid to continue without getting advice from some other Moms. What

paint did you use and did you experience this? Any other advice would be

helpful! Thanks so much! Lori
