Experience with Brachy Band?

Hi everyone,

My son just received his 2nd Doc Band. His first Doc Band was the Plagio style

band which he received when he was 4.5 months old. He just turned 6 months old

today. On Monday, we went to Cranial Tech to get his 2nd band. This band is a

Posterior Top or Brachy Band. So far, it seems like it will be very effective.

The fit is great and the tech said she gets excited when she sees this type of

band because it produces a good result. Does anyone have any experience with

this type of band? Or as a second band after a plagio band?

sorry I don't have advice...I did not even know there were two different kinds of bands, I wonder what the difference is. I know my sons is for plagio but I think he has a little brachy too and I was hoping his band would help with that as well, does anyone know if his helmet may help with that at all?

Hi,

My daughter just graduated from a brachy band from CT. Her first band was a

plagio band but never quite fit right, so after a couple of weeks trying to make

it work they remade a band and the second time around it was the brachy band.

The brachy was our only concern as the plagio was just slightly present.

As far as results, we are really pleased. She outgrew hew band in 9 short

weeks, but she still make remarkable progess in that time. Went from 103% to

93%. Her before and after pictures can be found on my blog.

decided against it for now. There is definitely room for more results, but

insurance hasn't accepted this claim, like many others, and we just aren't in a

position to get another band.

The clinician told us the same thing about being excited to see her in this band

that the results are really good. And she has been out of it for a couple of

weeks and I am still seeing improvements. I was worried because she is young

(7.5 months) so I was worried about regression, but the shelf seems to be

growing out now like it was suppose to in the beginning! ya!
