Guest guest
Hello, My son is 6 months old and has been wearing his DOC band for 5 weeks. He was born with torticollis & subsequently was diagnosed with severe palgiocephaly. His head has comes a long way thanks to the DOC band but his facial features (right cheek in front of his left cheek) and ears (still about 1.5 " off center from eachother) have not made much progress at all. Can anyone share their experiences regarding whether or not you saw improvement in facial features evening out over time? The physical therapist & our CT technician seem to think we'll see diminishing returns on the facial front from this point forward. thanks in advance for your thoughts! Guest guest
Hi -- My son has had his helmet (passive) for 6 1/2 months now; hopefully we get it off Monday! Like you, we have seen much improvement in his head shape, and his ear has also shifted back--but his left eye and left cheekbone are still "off". It seems to me they have improved as his head has grown, but I was told in the beginning that they would not be as affected by the helmet as the flat spot and the ear. I know it's not the news you wanted to hear, but that's what we're seeing. I can say, though, that as his face grows, it is less noticable.
