Guest guest
My daughter has been in her star band for 5 days now. We almost don't even know it is there. We live in South Florida and it is pretty hot right now. So other than the fact that we are mostly staying indoors, it really has not been any trouble. I am so surprised. I thought there would be a big adjustment period, but she was fine with it from the minute they put it on her. I know this is not true for everybody, but those of you that are in the process of getting one I just wanted to let you know it really may not be that bad. The only problem I am dealing with now is deciding how I want to decorate it Kara
Guest guest
My son is 6 1/2 months and just got his Hanger band last Thursday. He hasn't had any issues either. We live in Northern VA and it's extremely hot and humid here right now. I don't want to take him outside at all but I have to take him to his appts and I'm dreading it. He's really amazed me by doing so well so far. I'm so scared though that I won't see improvement right away. I'm a little bit of a worry wort though. I just hope he only has to wear it for the 3 months instead of up to 5 months like Hanger is predicting. We got ours already "pre-decorated" so I didn't have to worry with decorating it myself. Guest guest
,Good to hear that everything is going so well for your son. It's amazing at how quickly little ones adapt. It really is hot and humid here, so I tried to just keep indoors as much as possible to help her stay cool. Try not to worry about whether you'll see progress right away. Some do, some don't, but your son is young, so you really can expect to see some results rather quickly. Babies' head growth really doesn't slow until right before they turn one. began helmet therapy at 8 months and she was still growing quite fast. We actually noticed an improvement in her head shape in only one week. However, by the time she was about 10 and a half months, the growth really slowed down, but we still saw even more improvement. In the beginning, I just tried not to expect too much because I know experiences can differ from one person to the next. Just try to relax. Helmet therapy is really quite amazing and it will work for your son. Remember, your son is starting at a great age--lots of head growth left. It will be over before you know it and you will feel so relieved. Good luck and keep us posted on his progress!-AmyFrom: Carr <julieccarr@...>Plagiocephaly Sent: Tue, June 22, 2010 9:21:32 AMSubject: Re: Just wanted to share.....
