Guest guest
We used Apple Barrel paints and Modge podge to seal. Rubbing alcohol to remove the paint and stickers I used two painting routines: Quick decorating job (1-2 weeks): Paint directly onto the helmet (1-2 layers) using a fan on high speed to dry the helmet then covered with modge podge and again a high speed fan to dry it. I found it best to just go with a one night affair because LO would scratch off paint during the night and I would end up patching it the next morning so the helmet was off for about 1.5-2 hours just one time and this paint would last about 1-2 weeks depending on how itchy LO was. Stickers usually went over the modge podge the next night and were covered again by modge podge. If I wanted the design to last awhile (We kept one design for about six weeks): 2-3 layers of paint then 1-2 layers of modge podge drying with the fan in between layers. (about 2-2.5 hours off the baby). Next night Stickers and a layer of modge podge, fan to dry (1 hour off baby). Second night, layer of modge podge only, fan to dry. (1 hour off baby) To maintain the design I added a layer of modge podge 1-2 times per week because the rubbing alcohol you use to clean the helmet will take off a little bit every time. Good luck and have fun. > > My daughter is getting the doc band in a couple of days and I have decided to paint it baby pink. I am looking for any suggestions on how to do it the best way. As far as priming it and sealing it. Thanks! >
