Sleeping position

Hi ,

I was wondering if anyone was positioning their baby to sleep on their stomach?

My son is 5 months and will probably start rolling over soon. I was thinking

about purchasing the Angelcare movement monitor and starting him sleeping on his

tummy to help with the head rounding. Any thoughts on this or has anyone had

success doing this. My son has mild brachy so I am hopeful we can help with the

rounding out. (ps. we are already doing all the other items, PT, side play, tummy

time, etc.)

Thank you for any advice you have.

Hi Christi,

My daughter started sleeping on her tummy on her own around 8 mo. She was strong

and very mobile by then (rolling, crawling...). I would check with your ped

before trying it with a 5 mo old, but I have heard of other parents doing it

after plagio. If he is in a band it doesn't matter how he sleeps, but I'm

assuming from your post that you're trying to avoid banding. Brachy can be hard

to correct, so I suggest if you're trying to wait and see, you take some good

photos every week or two to see if there is improvement. Trusting your eyes it

tough. Even the photos are tough since the angle is hard, but I took them in the

bath with wet hair and usually got my husband to help.
