Done with DOC Band sooner than expected and having a hard time acceping it!

My daughter, Lexi (who turned 6 months on February 4), was in her DOC Band for 7

weeks. She was supposed to have her last adjustment today, wear the band for

another week, then have her exit appointment next Friday. With the recent

snowstorm that hit the South, we had to cancel our adjustment today and couldn't

really reschedule for Monday since we're traveling to CT from another state.

Since the band wasn't adjusted last week, our tech advised us to remove the band

today and she'll still have her exit appointment on Friday the 19th.

Her head looks better, but her ears still aren't aligned and there is still a

flat spot on her right side (she has left tort). I think some of the flatness

she has on her right side started in utero, and I've heard that can be difficult

to correct, but I've never understood why it's so harder to correct than plagio

that occurs after the baby is born...?

I know it was only a week, but I really wanted that extra week to get all the

benefit we could from the DOC Band. I just wasn't ready for this, and I'm

already obsessing about her laying on her right side during diaper changes or

playing on the floor. (She rolls wherever she wants to at night - probably

nothing I can do about that!)

Do you think it's really that big a deal to lose this week? If she was born with

some of this remaining asymmetry, can it really be impossible to correct anyway?

I'm just so disappointed we couldn't give her all the time possible. (BTW, our

tech didn't think one week would make a visual difference, and we adore him and

trust him, but the mom in me is just having a hard time with this!)
