Guest guest
Hi, I haven't been following Thad's emails on calipers, but I believe my husband read them. My husband ordered the infocefalia.com calipers. Unfortunately, they are not big enough for my boys. Hence, if you are ordering calipers for an older child, you want to make sure they are big enough. is 2 with a 95% head circumference and is 6 with a probably around average sized head. My husband did the best he could to measure their asymmetry, but could only stick to around level 6 where he was getting a lot of error. Both boys were averaging around 3-4mm. 's last scan was closer to 2mm, but at level 3 and he has more asymmetry up high, so this may be about right. I estimated that 's asymmetry is about 5mm at level 3. (Last spring, I was estimating about 6mm, so there may have been a slight improvement with the alternative treatments, but I have no proof.) My husband is going to try and order bigger calipers for more accurate measuring. Any suggestions? We don't really care about tracking 's measurements. I finally decided to go ahead with measuring using calipers. has very mild plagio with slight eye and forehead asymetry, and was never treated until the alternative treatments at age 5.5. We think he had a small amount of natural rounding when he was younger. His flattening was more noticeable as an infant, but it may not have been bad enough to justify a helmet. Although it bothers me now after my experience with 's plagio. My husband is measuring as a check since we know approximately 's measurements from his scan last spring. As a side thing, my boys enjoyed the measuring. :|) They both wanted to be first, and they tried to measure their toy Elmo and Bob the Builder.
