Guest guest
It is true that CT seems to focus on the numbers far less than some other band providers. I can see their point since numbers only measure the head and certain points, and don't capture all the problems/good parts - but I like numbers. Some techs don't use them at all , and sometimes only take measurements to please parents and/or insurance companies. My daughter had a starband and had her head scanned at most appointments. When the ortho compares the scan to the previous scans it automatically spits out all the numbers. However that doesn't mean it is completely accurate either. If the head angle is slightly different or if the ortho doesn't line up the images very carefully the numbers can be off. Also there is some error in the scan itself. So if you really want numbers let your clinician know that it matters to you - but I won't assume they are pulling the wool over your eyes. Also if you have before picture I would be happy to take a look and give you my opinion. I'm not an expert, but have been looking at babies here for a few years. From my experience CT doesn't always recommend banding - so not just out to make money. -christine sydney, 4 yrs, starband grad > > I see all of you posing abotu x amount of mm asymetry, skull bsae, etc. So when I went in to get Anaeya's band I asked about her #'s so that I could see progress. Our tech told us that they don't really use the #'s not to worry that we will see a difference.....Anaeya is so mild, aI am starting to wonder if we were duped into thinking she needed a helmet?? Why wouldn't they give me her #'s?? >
