Guest guest
Yes, it's quite common. Just the band holding the head where it should. If it's a problem, your orthotist can adjust the helmet. Don't worry, the eye returns to normal once the band comes off. You might try rubbing a tiny bit of cornstarch on the inside of the helmet above the eye area and see if this helps.Good luck!-AmyFrom: acohoon <abmatz3@...>Plagiocephaly Sent: Wed, January 12, 2011 12:48:54 PMSubject: Question - new to helmet My daughter will have her helmet for one week on Thursday. She is doing really well and sleeping in it fine. We have noticed that she is rubbing her right eye a lot when the helmet is on. We asked the orthotist yesterday about this and she said that it was probably due to her cold. We took the helmet off for her one hour off last night and she did not mess with her eye at all. As soon as we put it back on she started rubbing her eye again. It seems that the helmet may be pushing down on her forehead causing her eye to be shut a little...has anyone else experienced this? Or is it just from the cold?
Guest guest
Hi, We noticed with our lil guy that the Starband was making both of his eyes seem smaller, probably as a result of the pressure being applied to his forehead. When the helmet is off, his eyes appear bigger. He doesn't seem bothered with this; no rubbing. Maybe wait until the cold is over to see if there's a correlation between the two? -Anne From: acohoon <abmatz3@...>Subject: Question - new to helmetPlagiocephaly Date: Wednesday, January 12, 2011, 9:48 AM My daughter will have her helmet for one week on Thursday.
