EAST BAY ROCKContact Dana Sylvester-Doscher 925-648-3217, ddoscher11@... ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- GLUTEN FREE SESSION AT CAMP ARROYOThe plans for Northern California's first gluten-free summer camp are coming together. The Family Foundation, which runs camps over the summer for a variety of special needs, has offered to host and sponsor a gluten free summer camp at their campground in Livermore, CA. You can read more about the camp at http://www.ttff.org/camp/index.html.The camp will be August 7-11 in Livermore at Camp Arroyo. The camp has swimming, basketball, rock wall and ropes (minimum age 10yrs), bocci ball, hiking, art center, etc. There is a health center and we will have a nurse on site 24x7. The kitchen/dining will be entirely gluten free. The cost is $50 per person. Celiac children ages 5-16 are welcome. If your child is 5 years old he/she must be accompanied by a parent. If your celiac child is older and the parent wishes to come as a counselor that would be great as well.If your child is 15-16 and wants to be a junior counselor, please let us know. If you know of someone who wants to volunteer as a counselor, please let us know. All counselors will be required to be fingerprinted at their own expense. Terese Merrell is the contact person for camper registration: teresenmerrell@... Please send the names, ages and sexes of children attending, and the names and sexes of any adults who will be able to be camp counselors for the entire time,24x7.As the Family Foundation is covering the most of the cost of camp ($50 is a great deal!) the camp must follow their rules: this means celiac kids from Northern California have "first dibs" on places, and then unfilled spaces will be available to other gluten-free kids. So hurry and get your name on the list! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------SAN FRANCISCO 5K MARATHON JULY 31, 2005 Runners and walkers are welcome to participate in this fundraiser to raise money for celiac research groups and camp scholarships.
