SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA NEWS....February 2004

OAKLAND

The Oakland group will meet on SATURDAY, MARCH 6, from

10:30AM to 12:30PM, 1950 lin Street in Oakland. The speaker

will be Dr. Jeffery Aron, a clinical professor at UCSF in gastroenterology,

internal medicine and clinical nutrition, who has been practicing

for over 30 years. You can check his web-site at www.gut-check.com

or hear him on the Ronn Owens show, KGO Radio. His book,

" Gut-check: Your Prime Source of Bowel Health and Colon Cancer

Prevention " is highly rated. Please bring a gluten free brunch item

with recipe or ingredient list. Everyone is welcome.

On April 17 our speaker will be Helen Nienow from Harvest House

in Concord. Save June 5 for the final meeting of the year.

STANFORD

The Stanford Celiac Support group will meet SATURDAY, MARCH 6

at 9AM for a gluten free breakfast at First Watch Restaurant, 201 2nd

Ave., San Mateo. Breakfast can be ordered from the restaurant's

gluten free menu. Please bring a fresh baked gluten free bread item to

share. The restaurant is small so please RSVP to Rohlfs by

March 4 to reserve a seat. You can pay for your meal at the restaurant

with cash. Call the restaurant at 650-342-2356 if you need directions.

SANTA CRUZ

The Santa Cruz Celiac Support Group will meet SATURDAY, MARCH 13,

at 11AM in Meeting Room 1 at Dominican Hospital at 1555 Soquel Drive

in Santa Cruz. We will have a gluten-free potluck lunch (bring a list of

the ingredients or the recipe). Our meetings are informal, with lots of

time for discussion, support, and help with individual problems.

Our Celiac Kids) meetings are in Danville, Palo Alto, and San Francisco.

can receive an e-mail or snail mail notice. To subscribe or report address

changes, please send your name, address, phone number and e-mail address

confidential and will be used only to keep you informed of local celiac

activities and important celiac concerns the group leaders wish to share.
