It sounds as if you're doing all the right things to get a diagnosis. Just as a reminder, those of us with one autoimmune disease are at higher risk for others. Some researchers believe that there is only one autoimmune disease, which affects different people in different ways. Some of us get CD, others get scleroderma or MS or skin problems etc. etc. etc.

Keep this in mind when you talk with your doctors; make sure they are aware of the commonality.

Best wishes.

Yes, anemia often is an indicator of CD. However, please, please don't start taking iron pills without talking with a knowledgeable doctor. There are many kinds of anemia, with many causes, and iron pills aren't always the appropriate solution. They can cause considerable damage, in some situations.

,

I have fibromyalgia and the prognosis tends to be grim or there is a lack of acceptance of this disorder and other auto-immune disorders. Because of my own frustration and not getting better after going gf myself, I started seeing a nutritionist who practices in an alternative fashion and discovered that autoimmune disorders can be treated with a nutritional and lifestyle change approach. Today I am doing much better and am having my environmental sensitivities treated as well.

You could have an autoimmune disorder, but you could also just have a host of food and environmental allegies (major symptoms include pain and aches and fatigue).

Medical doctors tend not to accept the major role of poor nutrition, stress, etc in causing the body to get out of whack and illness to set in. If you think this might be going on with you, I would invite you to do some research on the internet and/or look for a naturopath, nutritionist or other alternative healer to consult with. They generally do not take insurance and it can be a little more expensive. I swear by it because of the host of physical and emotional problems I was dealing with a few short months ago and questioning whether I could continue in my profession. My turnaround has been well worth the expense. I have my life back now.
