Sue,

I to have that problem and my easy answer is to use a vinegar rinse

on your scalp when weekly before shampoo. Also I make my own skin

care products, I used to use amaranth flour as face wash,I still use

rose water toner and I make an nourishing oil and moisturizer, it is

easy simple, cost effective compaired to expensive organic brands

and works great. Kalinda

scalp. I've been trying different shampoos, and I read an article

about all the unsafe chemicals in shampoos, and I was just about to

go out and buy Simply Organic shampoo (very expensive). And then it

occurred to me -- is there gluten in these things? And, sure

enough, the ingredients list of my current shampoo includes " wheat

amino acids. " Have others discovered that they are allergic to

gluten in shampoo?

Sue,

I am unsure exactly the mechanism behind it. I just know that my

scalp used to itch and drive me crazy. (although I did find certain

products aggrivated this problem) I read up on line on home made

remedies and tried most, heavy cream works to but the smell!, and

the vinegar works for me, no heavy chemicals and the smell rinses

out. It also works great residue build up remover for your hair. If

I had to guess I would say it removes build up and disenfects, I can

actually feel the itchy spots on my scalp kind stining sometimes. I

just use staigth vinegar either before or after my hair is wet, let

it sit a min. then rinse and shampoo or conditon.

As to the second question I did alot of research online by just

searching for homemade beauty products and checkout books from the

local library and took notes from books at bookstores. My favorite

book I listed in a prior post is " Absolute Beauty " it is based on

East Inidan beauty recepies.

I just got back from the celiac conference a few hours ago and was

happy to find at least two of the vendors there who had some lower

GI pasta and bread mix! Basically they use something aside from,

besides or in additon to the usual corn, rice and potato flour which

are around 95 out of 110 on the GI index!

Hope this helps,

Kalinda

Multiple Chemical Sensitivities group I'm on...). What is the

mechanism behind it? It will somehow make my scalp less dry and

itchy? Do you rinse your hair in straight vinegar, or a

vinegar/water mixture?
