Guest guest
Are you talking about Breakfust? Or at least that's what the sign says it is. I've never learned the proper name for the place. Haven't been there for years and they had the best ice cream!Jen ----- Original Message ----From: Dean <nerd2art@...> Sent: Friday, May 4, 2007 10:21:23 PMSubject: [ ] Yummy bakery source - Palo Alto I looked in the archives, and I couldn't see that anyone else has found my secret bakery in Palo Alto. They only do limited things, but they're REALLY good! It's the bakery inside the Peninsula Fountain (better known to locals as The Creamery). They are not a GF dedicated facility, but they do special order GF bread and cookies and we haven't had any problems. The bread is pricey at $10, but it is twice as long as the average loaf and is excellent. They have white, pseudo-"whole wheat", and pseudo-"rye" . I've only had the white - will try the "whole wheat" next time. I cut the loaf in half and froze the other half. The chocolate chip cookies are to die for ($.50 each). They're at the corner of Emerson and Hamilton in downtown Palo Alto. I'm trying to talk them into doing hamburger buns - if you order from them, please suggest the same! While I have your attention, I also wanted to inform you of a research project at Stanford for diabetes. Since diabetes is often associated with celiac, I though some of you may be interested. It's on online self-management workshop for type 2 diabetes. If you're interested, go to the website: http://diabetes. stanford. edu I'm one of the investigators for the project. Guest guest
They do have a sign in the window that says " Breakfust " , and the best milkshakes anywhere (although I found a really good one in Sisters, OR). --- Aelfie <aelfie@...> wrote: > Are you talking about Breakfust? Guest guest
Do you know if they use soy flour? I'm allergic to soy, but would love some fresh bread. I found some pretty good hamburger buns and bagels at Beehive in San , but can't for the life of me remember the brand name. I'll check next I buy them. Also, re your study, my endocrinologist said that in his 30 year history, no thyroid/celiac patient of his has developed diabetes if treated with Synthroid. It's not a real study, but interesting nevertheless, and since he's one of the godfathers of thyroid disease, worth looking into.
