Guest guest
Ruth Anne,In my experience it is safe to assume that ALL oats are cross-contaminated if they are an ingredient in a product. To the best of my knowledge the only companies that make certified gluten-free oats are Cream Hill Estates and Glutenfreeoats.com - These oats are expensive so they are not generally used in producing other products such as breads, energy bars, etc. Even McCann's, the mainstream brand least likely to be contaminated, varies so much batch to batch that celiacs can get very sick from them. This is why most things that contain oats will not be labelled " gluten-free " (though some are). After eating McCann's with no problems for a while, and then eating a new box and getting VERY sick... I no longer eat any oats that are not from one of the two gluten-free companies that grow and process them separately from wheat. Just my $.02...Isaiah-- Gluten-Free By The Bayhttp://glutenfreebay.blogspot.com
