Guest guest
Hey , I have been there a couple of times. While the desserts were good, I wasn't that impressed with their other food. Plus, I felt horrible for about 4 or 5 hours afterwards (as did my husband). Their food is raw food and it's REALLY hard to digest. I don't think it was gluten, just hard to digest. Just wanted to give you my experience. Good luck! Amy -------------- Original message -------------- From: "seamaiden399" <seamaiden399@...> I was thinking of going there for lunch or dinner today. Does anyonehave any recommendations for tasty entrees, or for that matter, tastydesserts? I had dessert the last time I went, and really enjoyed it.-
Guest guest
I've eaten there a few times, and ordered the quinoa pesto. It's cooked & therefore warm, which was a plus for me on a cold day, and didn't cause any problems though I'm not as sensitive as some people on the list. I do think Cafe Gratitude is overpriced, the service is slow, and the atmosphere suffocatingly self-righteous. But that said, my co-workers wanted to go there, and the quinoa worked for me.Sharonamy.bhatnagar@... wrote: Hey , I have been there a couple of times. Guest guest
Personally I had a very good experience there. Here is my review of the restaurant and the things I ordered, along with photos of the food items. http://www.bookofyum.com/blog/ Since good gluten free, vegetarian restaurants are few and far between, I am just happy to have any in the area. *yay* - > > " Cafe Gratitude is overpriced, the service is slow, and the atmosphere > suffocatingly self-righteous. Guest guest
I think the food is pretty awful or mediocre at best, but the desserts are AMAZING. The entrees always give me horrible gastrointestinal distress (not glutening, though) for hours afterwards. It is like taking a scrub brush to your intestines. I just can't digest raw vegetables in large quantity (neither can many people). But it's worth going just for the desserts - and oh, the juices! The juices are really good. -- Gluten-Free By The Bayhttp://glutenfreebay.blogspot.com
