No, I haven't queried, but getting sick 4 out of 5 times pretty much put me off theatre popcorn. Now, I can't eat any popcorn due to a corn sensitivity. --Ruth Anne
Guest guest
I have tried many times emailing AMC and Century and received no answer.... =( --- In , " redchickn " <redchickn@...> wrote: > > Hi all, > > Has anyone investigated whether popcorn is gluten free at any of the > movie theaters -- at Century, Landmark, or AMC or any other chains? > > At theater snack bars I've read the labels of the containers, of the > fake butter and the oil, and there's nothing that appears to be > gluten, exactly, but there are flavorings that aren't identified. > > Has anyone queried these companies on the gluten issue and gotten an > answer? > > I'd love to know. > > Thanks! > > >

Now, I can't eat any popcorn due to a > corn sensitivity. I had a similar problem with corn. I laid off the corn products for a few months and find that I can now have it on occasion. I just don't push it too much. Corn tortillas for tacos or sharing a bowl of homemade popcorn doesn't seem to bum me out anymore. However, the last couple of times I had movie theater popcorn, I was decidedly ill with the usual celiac symptoms. I don't know what it is, but now I avoid move theater popcorn completely. Speaking of popcorn - all the popcorn stands at Disneyland are GF. I had popcorn several times last week there and experienced absolutely no problems. -Joe -- Joe http://sanbeiji.com/ " The ability to perceive or think differently is more important than the knowledge gained. Guest guest
AMC Movie Nachos are GF, made by frito-lay Got that reply from frito-lay, not AMC. I'm a pop-at-home in a pan with olive oil and put wierd toppings on it kinda popcorn person, so I bring a big purse with a ziplock bag of popcorn in it and ignore the theater popcorn cause I think its gross. Those movie nachos though...mmmmm....
