Guest guest
I'm not Vic, but I've found Premier Japan ( & Son's line) hoisin sauce on glutenfree.com-- Gluten-Free By The Bay http://glutenfreebay.blogspot.com
Guest guest
Dynasty Hoisin sauce is really easy to find at Safeway and possibly other stores. We get ours at the Safeway at Wolfe and Old SF Road, but I am sure other Safeways carry the brand and the sauce also. In all of the Dynasty brands, this is the only one that does not have gluten ingredients. So, possibly you may think you are taking a chance. I've used it regularly without a problem, and if it were a problem, I would certainly know about it! <More information is too much information!> As you know, you need to read lables because Dynasty could easily change their formulation without notice. I've also checked out various brands at our local Asian food store - Kings on El Camino at Cezanne. Hoisin sauce there is not without wheat ingredients, but there are some brands of black bean sauce that are free of soy sauce. Ditto for Ranch 99 market on Wolfe and Marina Market in Cupertino. Some of the Mr. Chau (a styalized male Chinese chile is their insignia) brands are made without wheat. Sometimes ingredients on Asian products say " soy sauce " and I skip those. Soy sauce is not a primary ingredient. Isaiah had a great suggestion also. Thank you Isaiah!
