Guest guest
I looked on the web site and found nothing. Asked in a store and the clerk looked at me like I farted on them.... I had the same experience at Cold Stone... They do list ingredients on the net but I was in a store with my son...The sent letters to both and the responce from Cold Stone was canned and unbeleivable..... Anyway all the managers at work were eating Togos and despite my better judgement, well lack there of I ordered a Taco salad with no chili... Had the lettuce, sour cream, cheese, guacamole, corn chips, tomato and thats it... 45 to an hour late I felt the rumblings in my right side, then the left then my day was pretty much done... Plain rice for dinner a few hours later was about all I could take.... Does anybody know if there was anything in what I ate other than the fact that the clerk prolly cut bread over my salad and used the same knife to cut bread as they did to scoop the sour cream... The lettuce in my salad could of been pulled off a sandwich that someone didnt want.... Just looking to narrow it down....
Guest guest
You do have to be careful with the tortilla chips also. There are some that add flour to the chips to make them light and crispy. Both myself and my Dad love mexican food and have gotten in the habit of asking for the ingredients of the tortilla chips which are often over looked when you ask about the gluten free menu choices. It is surprising how many of them contain wheat (Most Chain Restaurants). You can often tell by looking at the chips, if they have lots of bubbles or air pockets then they usually have flour as an ingredient. I agree that the deli style sandwich shops are very dangerous place to try to get a gluten free meal. My wife loves subway and I have tried to get salads there also. Even after telling the person behind the counter that I need to avoid wheat and to be careful that no bread crumbs got in my food, I could see that when they were cutting up the ingredients for the salad that they did not whipe off the counter very well and bread crumbs got in the food. Also any time they cut the bread for a sandwich crumbs go flying everywhere. I gave up on getting salads from these places.
