Guest guest
Hi there, I too am curious were this Cafe is located? I don't get a chance to post very often, too many in my life:) Anyhow, another thing to always consider when eating raw food, whether it be your own prep or from a restaurant is the chance that your produce may be contaminated with parasites. When you go to a restaurant you have no idea if they wash their produce well or what the source of their produce is. How many hands did your produce pass through? Another thing to watch out for is imported produce, especially from countries-like Mexico for example, who have polluted water sources in which they grow their crops. So what may appear food poisoning could be an unwanted pathogen that your body is working to rid itself of. I know that in this country parasites seem to be out of most peoples reality, though we are certainly not exempt in the US and need not travel to be affected. I am also sharing from personal experience, as all 3 of my children got parasites, we've never left this country!! The local doctor we saw said he has seen hundred's of cases in our area and felt produce was one of the greatest sources. I also read the book Parasite Menace by Skye Weintraub, a Naturopathic doctor in Oregon. She goes into great detail about produce handling and how to wash your produce so it is safe to eat. With any type of food intolerance, whether it be Celiac or other, there tends to be a higher likelihood of gut dysbiosis/intestinal imbalances therefore making us more susceptible to parasites/virus's/bacteria/yeast etc... Anyhow, wish I had known this years go, as it would have saved me a lot of stress! Just more food for thought...Be Well, Azalyne (mom to 3 sweet boys) -- The quickest way to change the world is to be of service to others.
