Guest guest
Rainbow in SF has a lot of gluten-free vitamins and foods, including various cookies, Bumble Bars and Lara Bars, Crave desserts, s Gone Crackers, large San-J wheatfree soy sauce bottles, etc etc and all the dry ingredients you'd need to bake. My only concern about the last is cross-contamination. The chickpea and buckwheat flours are in bins right next to wheat flour bins. Hot Rainbow tip: when the new Yellow Pages come out, look through the coupons in the back. There are Rainbow coupons for 20% off on Tues-Thurs in specified months. Guest guest
I would never buy GF flour in an open bin- way too much risk of cross contamination. Sometimes you can buy the flour in unopened bags, though, if you talk to the buyer at the store. They tend to be a bit on the large side, though. I usually buy my flour in quantity online, from Ener-g foods, Bob's Red Mill, or Authentic Foods. Amazon Grocery has some really good prices on these things... I like Rainbow, wish I lived closer! Whole Foods and California Sun aren't bad, but the latter is quite expensive.
