See's candy and corn starch

Hi,I took my son to the nearest See's candy store. In the recent past they had a short list of items that still included gluten. This time, their gluten list was very long. However, I noticed that they included corn starch as a gluten item. I don't know if somehow the processing for corn starch in their facilities will make it contaminated, or perhaps it was just a mistake. Does any one knows about this?

Thanks,Ravitte.

Corn starch is usually considered safe, unless of course the individual is

sensitive to corn as well or there are cross contamination issues.

I saw this post recently from GF in SD which states that nearly all See's

candies are now formulated to be GF:

It is news that See's is gluten free. In the past, when I visited the

local store, they were very cautious and recommended that I not try

the candy, partly because wheat starch was used on the conveyor belts

in the factory. So this is really good news for candy lovers.

I indulged (maybe too much) on See's candy this holiday season, and I

definitely reacted. That is the only thing I can think of that may

have made me feel lousy, so sadly I am avoiding it.

So in my boredom today, I stopped by my local See's store. They are

really fantastic there. There is one chocolate in the premade boxes we

cannot eat. Also, the crisps have gluten. But the nice lady called and

verified that they absolutely do not use wheat starch on their

machines. I've eaten a few pieces (I'm not much of a sweets person)

over the last month and haven't reacted at all. But we're all

different, right?
