Guest guest
Apparently the second post I made about maltodextrin didn't show up. That is wierd. In any case, as Rob said, it turns out I was misinformed about maltodextrin - A doctor told me to avoid every ingredient with the word " malt " in it. How nice to have another ingredient to add to the " safe " list (at least within the US). My apologies. -- Come visit my food blog... Guest guest
Coke and Pepsi are gluten free, as is Dr. Pepper. Unfortunately it sounds like this nutritionist was not well informed. If you get a chance, you might try attending the Stanford Celiac clinic and seeing their nutritionist, who is supposed to be an excellent resource. Guest guest
I know that the Carmel Coloring in Coke and Pepsi have been stated to be gluten free but for some reason I react to just about any dark colored soda. The only exceptions are Barq's Root Beer and the Berries and Cream Dr Pepper. (I do react to regular Dr Pepper). I do not know what is in them that bothers me but it sure does.
