Guest guest
Hi All I seem to remember someone mentioning that they moved to the bay area from Vegas recently- I'm actually going to Vegas Thursday night and would love any suggestions you all may have about the best places to eat in the city. My friend actually lives in and we will be spending time at the Green Valley Ranch. I'll also have access to a car. I have been craving pizza lately- any recommendations on restaurants that offer GF pizza would be wonderful (although I have a feeling I'll be a bit disappointed as the research I've been doing shows no pizza in Vegas). Also, about me: -My name is , I've lived in SF for 5 years and I'm originally from the midwest (Ohio). -In 5 weeks I will be entering my 30s! -I was diagnosed in December 2005 after about 6 months of not feeling like myself; I would get home from work and immediately want to go to bed. I was also having horrible stomach pains and headaches. I went to a GP who sent me to a lab to have my blood tested. Based on the results, he told me that I had celiac sprue. I had no idea what he was talking about so he took a piece of paper and wrote on it "No wheat. No pasta, muffins or pancakes." He then told me to look it up on the internet. I ended up seeing a GI a few months later and he confirmed the diagnosis without a biopsy. I realize that a true diagnosis cannot be made without the biopsy but I would rather cut gluten out of my diet than go back to feeling horrible. -I have learned so much from this discussion group and from the online resources available- I cannot imagine what life would be like without the internet! -Since my diagnosis, I've had to learn to cook which is actually a blessing- my Sunday nights are my cooking nights (food for the week) and the act of cooking really relaxes me. I love stir-frys, Thai Kitchen Rice, TK Pad Thai and TK Rice Noodles, Pamela's brownie mix and Amy's Rice crust pizza. I also love Ace Hard Cider and Redbridge beer. ~ piglet95037 <csilverstein@...> wrote: I've noticed we have a bunch of new members, so I thought this mightbe a good time to once again introduce ourselves.Carla Silverstein-mid 20s-currently living in Hill-previously have lived in Phoenix, British Columbia, Seattle,London England...and a bit more local - Chico and Santa Clara.-work at a local hospital and also as a p/t nanny-Fave products: Costco's huge bag of tortilla chips!
