Guest guest
I'm newly diagnosed with Celiac. I've kept to a gluten-free diet since December 2006. One of my ongoing, and albeit, unexplainable, symptoms, is dizziness. I'm interested in exploring accupuncture. Can anyone recommend an accupuncturist in the Bay Area, preferable in the mid- pennisula or south bay area. Even better, an accupuncturist who is familiar with CD. If anyone else has any other ideas to remedy my dizziness, much appreciated. Kathleen

Guest guest
Ed Weiss is in Palo Alto. He's FANTASTIC, and has helped me with non-celiac matters for nearly 30 years. He's a Stanford M.D. who trained in China before acupuncture was even heard of in the U.S. My celiac daughter is going to see him for her ongoing nausea issues. He's on Welch Road, and his number is 650-326-6560. Good luck! Guest guest
Hi -- I began suffering from severe dizziness/pre-syncope after being diagnosed with gluten intolerance. I got VERY sick after starting the GF diet and it was a mystery to all my doctors in the Bay Area, basically they said it was stress or anxiety but I knew something was not right. I do have orthostatic hypotension (diagnosed by tilt test locally) as well as Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome. My dizziness is the result of an increased heart rate on standing. POTS was diangosed for me after consulting with one of the country's leading cardiologists/EPs who specializes in Syncope. He is in Ohio. His expereince suggests that POTS can be triggered by gluten intolerence. His theory was after the body stops attacking the gut it attacked the autonmomic nervous system, an autoimmune type of process. I am on medication which has improved my condition and I also see an MD/ Acccupunture Dr. in Marin who is excellent and has helped me alot. email me for he info if you like. Now that I know I have POTS I have met (online) a significant number of people who have both POTS and gluten intolerance. > > I'm newly diagnosed with Celiac.
