Does anyone on the list have any idea where I can get some information on

healthy eating? eg: Whole foods

Is there a website devoted to this sort of thing?

I haven't seen much info on the list as to regards to healthier eating habits.

If you have any suggestions I would appreciate it.

The swedish edition of the Nexus magazine has published some articles

based on information from this site. And this has been some of the

most important information about healthy eating I have ever read so

far.

Discussions about healthy eating are certainly welcome on this list.

But the name of the list probably do not attract all the people who

would be interested in and could contribute to such discussions. :-)

Is there any list dedicated to the subject of healthy eating and

health in general (apart from the Eat Right for Your Type lists)?

Otherwise it could be a good idea to create such a list.

Lucky you!! :) I’m so jealous. We have a small Wild Oats here, which we were thrilled to get but a nice big Whole Foods would be even better! I do all of my shopping at Wild Oats, never even go to to a regular grocery store any more.

As far as Solaray, it’s a common line found in health food stores. I don’t buy any of my supplements in stores because they are not pharmaceutical grade, something my ND believes makes a huge difference.

Kenda

I am so excited! We finally got a Whole Foods Market in the Columbus

area! Of course I live on the south-east side and the market is 30

miles away on the north-west side, but at least we have one. My

husband and I went yesterday and filled a grocery cart with all

kinds of wonderful organic foods. I told him that I didn't care how

far it was, I am going to do all of our shopping there from now on.

I actually became a little bit sad when I went into the health and

beauty aisles, because they have all of the things I was going to

sell in my shop had I gotten my SBA loan. I know all of the

suppliers they use LOL. Anyway, since I can't have my own at least I

now have somewhere wonderful to go to.

I bought myself a refridgerated acidopholus, in my effort to battle

the candida. I picked up Solaray w/ goats milk. Is that a good

brand? I hadn't heard of it, and they didn't have one I recognized.

If any of you shop at Whole foods and are familiar with their brands

I'd appreciate a heads up on the good ones.

Thanks!

Kenda, we've had a Wild Oaats but it is just way too expensive for a

family of 5 on one income. Your lucky that you are able to afford

it! I was thrilled when I discovered that Whole foods has their own

store brand with prices comparable to Krogers. Hopefully you'll get

one soon!

If you get a Vitamin Cottage in your area, the prices are quite a bit

better than the other two stores.

I hope you don't give up on the idea of selling

excellent supplements . . . Nothing sells better than

personal service from someone who knows their product.

Your biggest competitor will not be Whole Foods, but

the internet.

However, you can use your own website to take

advantage of that!

The supplements are probably one of my weaker areas of expertise.

There is a tiny little herb/vitamin shop here in my town that was for

sale last year, I tried to buy it and expand it. It was bought out by

a lady that deals in antiques and knows nothing about the supplements,

nor does she care to. She has slowly been depleating the stock and

filling it in with antiques. I so wanted that store! It had a proven

income record with a local MD/ND who sent all her patients there. I

guess it wasn't meant to be.

I am glad that you are so excited. It is a great feeling isn't it.

I wish we had one here. The closest to me is chicago and that is

almost 3 hours away.

Hi !

You’re not kidding, Wild Oats is expensive! I have written Whole Foods several times asking them to come. I live in Oklahoma, one of the fattest states in the US. It’s doubtful we’ll get a Whole Foods. :( We were shocked that Wild Oats even came here.

I have tried twice to reply to an email you sent me and both times

it came back as failure of delivery. I just wanted you to know that

I did try to reply to your email. Do you know why it won't

deliver?

My private emails to Molly came back as undeliverable as well. She

got them in a round about way, but the email address she uses does

not work.

Molly, what gives?

When I go to really good bars, particularly those in resort hotels, I tell them about GF beers.

BevMo in Walnut Creek

carries Redbridge and Ramapo

Valley.  Harbor liquors

in Santa Cruz and

New Leaf in Boulder Creek also carry Redbridge;.  New Leaf in downtown Santa

Cruz and Staff of Life in Santa Cruz carry New Grist (cant wait for the day you

can walk into a restaurant/bar an order a beer) –baby steps, it will

happen.

I can only find Bards Tale back east,

anyone stumble across it here (other than online?)

The WF in also had the sign for a GF tour.

So I was at the WF on Bascom today, and they're out of

Redbridge beer. Again. I politely

explained that I'm coming from

Hill and if it's selling so well that they're always

out

of stock, perhaps they could order MORE. LOL

However, the BevMo in Gilroy

is going to stock it, hopefully by the end of the week, and it's

on sale.

Ok, that's the beer report.

SO they had a little sandwich board out front of WF saying they were doing a gf

tour. So I

checked that out. They are signing people up to see who's interested, and they

got either a

dr. or a celiac savvy nutritionist, not sure which, who is going to come to the

store and do a

talk/tour. They had two pages, front and back, full of names. I think

businesses are missing a

prime market!!

WF is pretty much a joke at this point..... I have spoken with

Managers at EVERY store in all 3 stores near San .. I usually

have to drive to all 3 to get about %80 of my items because they are

out of stock or have 1 left..Today I went in checking for Nanas

cookies AGAIN... they were out of all GF ones... The manager said

they werent sure when they were getting more in.. something about a

distributer change and they are behind.... They have been out for

almost a month... Green Onion Thai bowls... also GF OUT....

EnviroKids Vanilla Cookies OUT... The potato things shaped like

letters OUT....Amys GF pizza OUT....Baked Zitti found at one

store.....The list goes on and on...

I am not only shopping for me but my 6 year old as well.....I saw the

board out front today and wanted to take in side and ask about the

tour.... Judging by the amount of product they do not have... its

probably a short tour...

I have sent letters to their GO and they just get bounced back to the

store and the same people that I talk to in the store that cant make

things happen call me back to tell me there is nothing that they can

do.....

As a retail store manager myself I have TRIED to explain that they

need to carry more of each GF product.. If I as a norm go to buy

brand A and said store is OUT of brand A... I as a norm can buy bran

B.... We do not have that option....99% of the time it is brand A or

off we go to another store.....Anyway.. Sorry for the rant but after

another 4 hours to do some shopping and 3 different WF in one morning

kinda wears on ya....

Do you seem to get the big blow off or do they seem interested?

Sometimes I feel like when I'm explaining things or asking them to

order things, they can't wait to get rid of me.

It's the same store. It's in . And I got the Bard's Tale,

Dragon's Gold, at the Beverages and More in Gilroy yesterday. I wish

we could teleport stuff to each other, lol. I got 2 six packs, because

a review I read said this one tastes most like normal beer, which to

me is Corona. It's not that. It's not so bad; a little sweet. I like

the Redbridge better I think. It reminds me of a Sierra Nevada. But I

think my days of squeezing a lime into a Corona-like beverage are

over. Oh well!

I totally feel your pain! I HATE driving so far and get up there and

they're out of stuff. There were several other things I was looking

for that were gone. Then when I see something that's there, I spend

more than I want because I feel like I have to hoard it all!

You had a great point about others having several other options to

choose from. We're depending on the supply or we're sh*t outta luck!

It gets tiresome (and I've only done this for a month!!) driving all

over, begging people to stock things, paying a lot of money for things

that taste...ok for the most part, and having people act like you're

making this up or just kind of a pain. Unfortunately, we're dependant

on WF. I know the online thing is expensive, and you're paying

shipping on top of that. Of course, it probably equals the gas I'm

wasting.

We stock our Organic Bistro Whole Life Meals in all Whole Foods including California. As a suggestion, if you find they can not or are not stocking a product properly call the PRODUCT 800 number. As the supplier we can call and make SURE that they have enough product. I know that I would personally take a call of this nature seriously and do my best to remedy the problem and I know I am not alone in that respect. Also often times there is a specific broker for the company that is responsible for maintaining product in each Whole Foods and the company can contact them to make sure things are in stock. It can be more effective if Whole Foods hears from us that they need to order additional product and I am sure all companies want their product available to loyal customers at all times. I can sympathize with feeling overwhelmed and not heard at

these bigger markets sometimes. Good luck!Warm regards, Medical Marketing Coordinator Organic Bistro Whole Life Mealsorganicbistroinfo@... 480-664-8729 ext. 120 www.theorganicbistro.com
